Juvenile Zone 8 Playdowns – Jan. 13-15, 2017
THE 100 MILE HOUSE CURLING CLUB IS EXCITED TO HOST THE 2016/2017 U-18, (UNDER 18), CURLING ZONE PLAYDOWNS. THE AGE ELIGIBILITY FOR THE 2017 BC U18 CURLING CHAMPIONSHIPS IS PERSONS AGED 17 AND UNDER AS OF JUNE 30, 2016. IN ADDITION, PLAYDOWNS FOR THE BC U18 CHAMPIONSHIPS HAVE SWITCHED FROM 8 ZONES TO 5 INTER-REGIONAL EVENTS, AND 100 MILE IS HOSTING THIS FOR CURL BC. 100 MILE WILL FIELD A TEAM IN BOTH THE GIRLS AND BOYS DIVISIONS, WITH COMPETITION COMING IN BOTH DRAWS FROM PRINCE GEORGE AND SMITHERS FIELDING A BOYS TEAM ONLY. PRINCE GEORGE BOYS AND GIRLS ARE THE DEFENDING ZONE CHAMPIONS. LAST YEAR SAW A SUDDEN DEATH PLAYDOWN BETWEEN 100 MILE AND PRINCE GEORGE WITH PRINCE GEORGE EMERGING AS THE WINNER. 100 MILE WILL BE ON THE HUNT FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP AGAIN THIS YEAR. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING DOWN TO VIEW SOME OF B.C.’S GREAT UP AND COMING CURLERS YOU CAN JOIN US AT THE 100 MILE CURLING CLUB ON SATURDAY JANUARY 14TH . DRAWS WILL START AT 9AM, 2PM AND 7PM ON SATURDAY WITH THE SAME DRAW TIMES AS REQUIRED ON SUNDAY. COME OUT AND SUPPORT OUR GREAT JUNIOR CURLERS AS THEY WOULD BE THRILLED TO CURL IN FRONT OF A CROWD. WE HAVE GREAT VIEWING AREAS IN THE CLUB WITH STANDS DOWN ON THE ICE AND IN OUR LOUNGE UPSTAIRS.

The 2016 Mixed Curling Bonspiel was a success again this year. With 14 teams registered, 3 out of town teams and some out of town curlers, we are starting to see some momentum for this new Bonspiel. Our club hosted a dinner event on the Saturday night with some great food served by our local restaurant 2 for 1 Pizza. Everyone was well fed and had a great time, a ride home program was in place to make sure nobody was drinking and driving. Time to think about your mixed team for the 2017 season.
